After blogging about water and sanitation issues for a year, I am turning my attention to five topics that begin with the letter F. You can expect to read about all things:

• Furry and Feathery
  I live on 15 acres in the mountains of California, surrounded by deer, wild turkeys, bobcats, mountain lions, and a large assortment of small birds.
• Faraway
  When I’m not enjoying the mountains, I’m usually traveling to some distant place.
• Fit
  That’s a state I’d like to be in. I’m training for a marathon.
• Physics
  I can’t get away from physics. Not only is gravity dragging me down, especially when I’m trying to get fit, but physics affects almost every aspect of my life. (Okay, Physics is not an F-word, but it sounds like F! )

My intention is to post at least twice a week.

About Me

I have a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science and Music. After a stint in academia, I wrote technical documentation for more than a decade. I co-authored the technical hit Programming with Quartz.

These days I don’t get to write much for work, so I started this blog.
