The distance from Loch Lomond, Scotland to the Sahara desert is 4,000 miles. On March 22, Mark Spriggs plans to start that trek. He was drawn to take action after he learned about the lack of water in developing countries. This is his personal call to action to raise money and awareness for this worthy cause.

The Elephant Toilet won the St. Andrews Prize for Environment 2008 for best design.

What? A toilet for elephants? No. It gets its name from the two “elephant-ears” that appear around the hole. This is a basic hole-in-the-ground toilet with cement marks that indicate where to place your feet. Those cement marks sort of look like elephant ears. Check it out!
