One of this week's assignments for the Black & White Fine Art photography course I am taking, is:
Select a subject and shoot it straight on, now shoot it from close and low to give it a domineering, powerful effect.
When I studied documentary film making, this sort of looking-up shot is referred to as the "God angle." When applied to people, like the hero of the film, it makes that person seem invincible. Today I thought I would try this technique on some gas pipes. These are pipes that carry propane to the various parts of the property.
Here they are using the close and low technique. What do you think?
