Driving back from Paso Robles, the route winds past lots of farm land. Some is still brown, having been recently planted. But there are many acres that are producing artichokes, various leafy greens, and strawberries. Even though it is technically winter, the growing areas near the coast are quite alive. When I hear that other parts of the country are still waiting for their ground to thaw, I appreciate California's weather even more! (Image taken from a speeding car with my phone.)
