Turkeys spend so much time walking and running on the ground, that I wonder why they have wings. The males fluff them out and make beating noises with the to attract mates, but I've never seen a flock of turkeys flying. Not even one, for that matter.
Not too long ago, I looked up at one of the fir trees and to my surprise saw a turkey sitting there. But can you fly? I asked him. He stood up, flapped his wings, and sat down. His display told me that he flew into the tree and could fly out when he desired to do so.
